Job summary

Hellbender Inc. is seeking an IT Manager to lead day-to-day operations, security, and strategic direction of the company’s technology infrastructure. You will manage a two-person team, own incident reporting, and ensure capacity keeps pace with growth.

The role emphasizes compliance, vendor relationships, and hands-on leadership for Windows, MacOS, Linux, and server hypervisors in a Pittsburgh area environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience including 1–2 years in a supervisory role
• Experience managing network infrastructure and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)
• Strong IT security knowledge incl. access controls, endpoint protection, incident response
• Vendor management experience with MSPs and software licensing
• Excellent communication skills for non-technical stakeholders
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or ITIL Foundation
• Experience supporting 50–150 employees through growth
• Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar frameworks and client security reviews
• Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python) for systems administration
• US DOD ITAR work preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

• Supervise a two-person IT team and manage workload and performance
• Set IT department structure, service standards, and ticketing workflows
• Develop and own IT disaster recovery and business continuity strategy
• Lead security and compliance due diligence with Legal, Finance, and Sales
• Oversee network, cloud platforms, and endpoint management
• Hire, develop, and manage technical staff
• Gain experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance processes
• Support mixed deployment environments (Windows, MacOS, Linux, server hypervisors)
