Job summary

Middlebury College ITS Department and Media Services seek a student IT/AV support specialist on the MIIS campus. You will be the first point of contact for technology questions, assisting via phone, in person, and Zoom, and provide on-site support for events.

Responsibilities include remote collaboration with Vermont ITS staff, PaperCut printing, inventory management, and documenting steps in the ticket system while escalating unresolved issues.

Qualifications

• Sufficient level of technical knowledge with a desire to learn and collaborate.
• Customer Service experience with high proficiency in English
• Able to keep calm and navigate through challenging situations
• Majority of issues will be resolved on first contact
• Be motivated, punctual, and occasionally work unsupervised
• Committed understanding of the Middlebury network enterprise
• Working understanding of our PaperCut printing system
• Training provided, but expect to learn mostly through application

Responsibilities

• Answer technology questions over the phone, in person, over Zoom.
• Work with ITS Staff in Vermont via remote sessions.
• Apply knowledge of systems and services by Microsoft, Apple, and Google.
• Research issues not resolved on first contact.
• Document steps taken; escalation within TDX ticket system.
• Provide in-person support, assist with media events.
• Perform office visits and classroom support.
• Keep track of inventory and loaner equipment
