Job summary

Putnam County Hospital is hiring an IT Help Desk Technician to answer calls and emails about hardware and software issues. You will configure laptops, provision accounts, set up MFA, and revoke access as part of onboarding and off-boarding.

The role requires 2–5 years of help desk experience, proficiency with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, VPN/RDP/Citrix, and strong customer service skills. You must be available on-call 24/7 to support hospital systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of Help Desk experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• On-call 24/7 availability.
• Basic understanding of security best practices for IT.
• Ability to escalate complex problems to Tier1/Tier2 Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone and emails regarding hardware, software problems.
• Configure laptops, provisioning accounts, setting up MFA, revoking access.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Troubleshoot using remote control tools.
• Install and support Windows-based printers and networking.
• Understand VPN, RDP, Citrix and other remote access tools.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Exchange email system.
• Handle service desk ticketing systems.
