Hardware Technician
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 on‑site and remote support for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
- Conduct site surveys, assess and document current configurations and user requirements; prepare detailed drawings and documentation.
- Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions; develop installation schedules.
- Build specialized interconnecting cables and support network upgrade initiatives.
- Train site personnel in proper use and maintenance of hardware.
- Maintain and support fiber‑optic modems, multiplexers, cables, and telephone systems.
- Use ticketing systems to track issues and ensure efficient IT service management.
- Act as a resource for end‑user connectivity needs, providing timely professional support.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, vendors, and business units to drive successful project outcomes and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Security clearance with Agency‑Appropriate Polygraph.
- High school or GED and at least 2 years of experience.
- 8570 Certification is required; Security+ certification preferred.
Required Technical Skills
- Proficient in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
- Experienced with installing Windows operating systems, software applications, antivirus programs, and security patches.
- Able to read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems.
- Knowledge of Active Directory security and policies.
- Skilled in providing remote end‑user support.

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage time and priorities independently.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle.
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work an 8‑hour shift between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM as scheduled.
Salary Range
$50,000.00 – $60,000.00 (Annually)
Annual compensation figures are a general guideline and will vary based on government contract rates, hours worked, education, experience, certifications, and geographic location.
