Job summary

Itezz Inc. is seeking a Network Security Engineer to analyze complex hardware systems and design, deploy, and maintain secure networks across CONUS and OCONUS locations.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI with polygraph, DoD-equivalent credentials, and hands-on experience with enterprise hardware integration. Responsibilities include site surveys, installation planning, and hardware configuration, ensuring solutions meet user requirements while coordinating with federal agencies.

Qualifications

  • Must hold TS/SCI with Agency Appropriate Polygraph.
  • At least five years as a Network Security Engineer on large programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CE/CS/EE/IS/math or related field; five years may substitute for degree.
  • DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level II certification.
  • Vendor certifications: Palo Alto NGFE, SNSA/SNSP, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze hardware specs and document practical designs for servers, network devices, storage, and processors.
  • Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Ensure problems are identified and solved to meet user requirements.
  • Assist with installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Conduct site surveys and document current network configuration and site requirements.
  • Recommend hardware acquisition specifications and prepare engineering plans and Technical Design Packages.
  • Develop hardware installation schedules based on setup and test timelines.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and site installation/test reports.
  • Configure network devices, firewalls, proxies, VPNs, and load balancers.
  • Train site personnel in proper use of hardware.

Description

Provide engineering expertise to analyze complex systems, architecture, network design and other technical hardware issues. Procure and perform acceptance testing on equipment. Provide hardware maintenance support, both preventative and remedial. Deploy, install, and implement hardware at Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS). Prepare specifications for hardware by analyzing documented and derived system requirements. Conduct site surveys. Prepare engineering plans and site Technical Design Packages. Organize and direct hardware installations. Configure (and document configuration of) computers, networking devices and various peripheral equipment. Prepare site installation and test reports. Ensure that problems have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user’s requirements. Prepare reports and recommendations concerning existing and emerging hardware technologies. Provide specific input to the hardware components of system design to include end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with customer appropriate polygraph).

Capabilities
  • Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components to include servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors
  • Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions
  • Ensure that problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user’s requirements
  • Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site network configuration and site unique requirements
  • Recommend specifications for hardware acquisitions
  • Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages
  • Develop hardware installation schedules based on set-up, integration, and test timelines
  • Prepare drawings documenting as-built configurations at each site
  • Prepare site installation and test reports
  • Configure network devices, firewalls, web proxies, VPNs and load balancers
  • Train site personnel in proper use of hardware
Required Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with Agency Appropriate Polygraph
  • Five (5) years experience as a Network Security Engineer analyzing complex hardware systems on programs and contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of Network Security engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must meet DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II
  • Must possess at least one of the following vendor certifications:
    • Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall Engineer (NGFE)
    • Sonicwall Network Security Certification (Administrator (SNSA) or Professional (SNSP))
    • Cisco Enterprise Certification (CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE)
Salary Range

$75,000.00 - $200,000.00 (Annually). Annual Compensation Figures listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; annual hours worked; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location.
