Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. seeks an on-site service technician in Portland, OR to troubleshoot and repair IT cooling products and electro-mechanical equipment.

You will start-up, perform preventative and remedial maintenance, and handle field modifications and testing for customers. You will diagnose issues using schematics and test equipment, reclaim refrigerants, and perform evacuations and charging as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in HVAC, electrical/electronic field or related technical area with 2–5 years of troubleshooting/repair experience.
• EPA Section 608 certification.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and BOMs.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electronic test equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal communication for customers, employees, vendors.
• Intermediate computer skills focusing on MS Office, timekeeping, and expense reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service of IT Cooling products including start-up, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modification, and testing.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration and electro-mechanical equipment using drawings and test equipment; perform repairs or replacements as needed.
• Conduct refrigerant work such as leak detection, reclamation, evacuation, and charging of R410A.
• Evaluate HVAC electric/control systems and engineering products; provide technical support to customers and service partners.
• Inspect, test, and document returned products and systems to determine defects.
• Schedule and provide emergency technical support and field service on an on-call basis.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation; prepare installation, testing, and repair paperwork.
