Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required for I.
  • Associates degree or technical vocational certification in IT preferred for II.
  • Experience in technical support or customer service in a corporate environment preferred for I.
  • Experience in technical support via phone in a corporate environment preferred for II.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, resolve, and manage incidents and service requests across hardware, software, OS, applications, networks, peripherals, remote access, and mobile devices.
  • Document and categorize incidents using the knowledge base and ITSM procedures.
  • Use phone, email, and remote tools to restore service efficiently.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and routing to second-level support as needed.

While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

Role Overview

The IT Client Services Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for employees seeking technical support and is responsible for diagnosing, resolving, and managing incidents and service requests. The role provides support across a range of technologies, including hardware, software, operating systems, applications, networks, peripherals, remote access, and mobile devices. Specialists document and categorize incidents, apply appropriate solutions, and use phone, email, and remote support tools to restore service efficiently. Depending on experience and level, the role may include advanced troubleshooting, determining final call categorization, and routing or coordinating with second-level support teams in accordance with IT Service Desk procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of: PC concepts, principles, maintenance, and operations
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of ITIL processes

Minimum Requirements IT Client Services Specialist I
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associates degree or technical vocational certification specializing in information technology or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 1 year experience providing technical support or customer service via phone in a corporate enterprise environment
Minimum Requirements IT Client Services Specialist II
  • Education: Associates degree or technical vocational certification specializing in information technology OR Equivalent work experience
  • Preferred: Associates degree or technical vocation certification specializing in computer science, computer information systems, electronics, or an equivalent information technology field
  • Experience: 3 years of experience providing technical support via phone in a corporate enterprise environment
Physical Requirements

This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
