Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for an IT Operations Center Administrator to join our Information Technology team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does an IT Operations Center Administrator do for us?

Through effective monitoring, timely high-quality communication, alerting, and consistent tracking of incident progress, the IT Operations Center strives to reduce the likelihood, duration and impact of outages. The team actively supports work with Integrity, Safety and Respect in a High-Performance Culture. The IT Operations Center is responsible for 24x7x365 infrastructure monitoring and first response, incident management for all IT Services systems, applications and the Data Center Building Facilities. The IT Operations Center is also responsible for after-hours operations and end-user troubleshooting for various systems and services. Under minimal supervision, System Administrators analyze, install, configure, upgrade, document, monitor and maintain software and hardware in support of business processing requirements. Supported systems may include operating systems, business applications, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, Web servers, Application servers, Integration servers, and other departmental or enterprise applications or systems. Performs tier 1 systems administration functions for assigned applications to ensure supported systems are reliable, efficiently maintained and available in order to support customer productivity. Provides first level response for monitored system alerts.

Education
  • Associates degree OR Equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and certifications
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree specializing in IT or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and certifications
Experience
  • 3 years of experience in a technology operations environment or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred: 4 years of experience in an IT operations environment, communications systems, control systems, security functional area or equivalent work experience with real-time systems
Licenses & Certifications
  • N/A
  • Preferred: CompTIA A+ certification Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work various shifts as requested or scheduled which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays. This role works 12-hour shifts.
