Job summary

Benesch in Chicago seeks an IT Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology. The role blends analysis, requirements documentation, and collaboration with PMO to drive innovative, efficient IT solutions across legal practice areas.

You will partner with attorneys and staff, translate business needs into IT deliverables, and support training and adoption of new systems in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent IT/business experience; 2+ years in business analysis or business relationship management.
• Experience with business process analysis and improvement; familiarity with law firm technologies is a plus.
• Change management certification (ProSci CMP or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes, data flows, and systems, identifying inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Document current and future-state processes; develop requirements and workflows with PMO input.
• Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and build consensus among stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into functional/technical specs; partner with PMO to create project plans.
• Drive process improvements to simplify systems and improve user experience.
• Maintain strong partnerships with attorneys, staff and teams to align IT with business needs.
• Support change management and create end-user training materials and sessions.
• Develop understanding of key applications like practice mgmt, docs, timekeeping, and collaboration tools.
