Job summary

Hibu is seeking an IT Inventory Coordinator to manage the physical flow of computer equipment and accessories in and out of our inventory. You will pack and ship equipment to new employees, inspect returned devices, and maintain accurate CMDB asset records.

The role requires attention to detail, organization, and comfort with hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have basic IT hardware knowledge, be able to work independently, and meet daily shipping deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months of experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, IT asset management, or inventory control preferred.
• Comfortable using computers and databases for data entry; experience with a CMDB or asset management system is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when logging equipment and preparing shipments.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet daily shipping deadlines.
• Basic familiarity with computer hardware and accessories (laptops, monitors, docking stations, peripherals).

Responsibilities

• Pack computers and accessories for shipment to new employees, building boxes with appropriate packing materials to ensure safe delivery.
• Verify that all required equipment and accessories are included in each outgoing shipment before it ships.
• Prepare and stage all outgoing shipments for pickup by 3:00 PM daily.
• Receive and unpack returned equipment from departing or upgrading employees.
• Perform an initial physical examination of returned equipment, identifying damage or repair needs and routing eligible items for warranty service.
• Log all incoming and outgoing equipment accurately and promptly in the CMDB, maintaining clean and audit-ready asset records.
• Maintain accurate, real-time counts of on-hand inventory and flag replacement or reorder needs before stock runs low.
• Assist with other inventory management duties as needed.
