Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an IP Paralegal Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals with patent and trademark matters in a busy IP practice. The role includes docketing, preparation, portfolio management, and maintenance of patent applications.

This position may be filled remotely, The Link, or in any of our locations. The ideal candidate has patent experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Qualifications

• One year of patent experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience with electronic court filings.
• Ability to prioritize workflow and manage time.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys and paralegals with a full range of patent and trademark matters.
• Docketing, electronic filing, portfolio management and maintenance of patent applications.
• Prepare status summary reports for attorneys and clients.
• Coordinate international filings with foreign offices and entities.
• Maintain docket system of due dates including renewals and annuities.
• Perform document management duties (copying, filing, scanning, courier).
• Data entry of matter information into applicable software.
• Learn and apply IP concepts and, if possible, AI tools.
• Meet annual targeted billable hours of 1000.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
