Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an IP Paralegal Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals with patent and trademark matters in a busy IP practice. The role involves docketing, electronic filing, portfolio management, and maintenance of patent applications.

The ideal candidate has one year of patent experience, strong organization, and excellent written and oral communication skills. The position may be filled remotely or in any location as part of our virtual office, The Link.

Qualifications

• One year of patent experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience with electronic court filings.
• Ability to prioritize workflow and manage time.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys and paralegals with a full range of Patent and Trademark matters for a busy IP practice.
• Prepare status summary reports for attorneys and clients.
• Coordinate international filings with foreign law offices and/or other foreign entities.
• Maintain docket system of due dates for actions, including responses, renewals, oppositions, and payments of patent annuities in foreign countries.
• Perform data entry of matter information into applicable software.
• Maintain familiarity with Patent & Trademark concepts, practices and procedures.
