Job summary

Stripe Identity is hiring an iOS engineer to join the Identity team in San Francisco. You will design, build, and maintain mobile SDKs and verification flows used by developers across industries to deliver trusted identity experiences.

You'll work with product managers, designers, ML engineers, and backend engineers to create reliable, secure, and accessible mobile experiences on iOS, Android, and React Native, balancing UX, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, including mobile apps or SDKs.
• Experience developing for iOS using Swift or Objective-C.
• Strong design fundamentals and experience creating maintainable APIs, components, or frameworks.
• Experience delivering mobile functionality beyond an isolated UI layer with API integration.
• Experience testing, debugging, monitoring, and improving mobile software in production.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, design, and other partners.
• A demonstrated commitment to building high-quality user and developer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Stripe Identity’s mobile SDKs and verification experiences across iOS, Android, and React Native.
• Create intuitive, polished experiences for identity-document and selfie capture with accessibility and device capabilities in mind.
• Build reliable and extensible SDK APIs and reusable components for easy integration.
• Work across mobile clients, supporting APIs and services to deliver features end-to-end.
• Improve SDK performance, reliability, observability, testing, release processes, and backward compatibility.
• Make architectural decisions balancing UX, developer experience, security, privacy, and maintainability.
