Job summary

Stripe, Inc. is seeking an Android engineer for the Identity team to design, build, and maintain mobile SDKs and verification experiences across iOS, Android, and React Native.

You will craft polished, accessible flows for identity documents and selfies, with an emphasis on security, privacy, and a seamless developer experience. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, ML engineers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features, improve performance, and evolve mobile

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience shipping mobile apps or SDKs.
• Experience developing for Android using Kotlin or Java.
• Strong API design and maintainable APIs, components, or frameworks.
• Experience delivering mobile functionality beyond a standalone UI layer with API/services integration.
• Experience testing, debugging, monitoring, and improving mobile software in production.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, design and other teams.
• Commitment to high-quality user and developer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Stripe Identity’s mobile SDKs across iOS, Android, and React Native.
• Create intuitive experiences for identity document and selfie capture with accessibility considerations.
• Build reusable SDK APIs and components for easy integration by developers.
• Work across mobile clients, supporting APIs and services to deliver end-to-end features.
• Improve SDK performance, reliability, and release processes.
