Job summary

Stripe Identity team is hiring an iOS engineer to design, build, and maintain mobile SDKs and verification experiences across iOS, Android, and React Native. You will craft intuitive flows for identity documents and selfies, while ensuring accessibility and device compatibility.

Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reusable SDKs that power trusted identity across Stripe products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development, including meaningful experience building and shipping mobile applications or SDKs.
• Experience developing for iOS using Swift or Objective-C.
• Strong software-design fundamentals with maintainable APIs, components, or frameworks.
• Experience delivering mobile functionality beyond an isolated UI layer (APIs/services, local state, device capabilities).
• Experience testing, debugging, monitoring, and improving mobile software in production.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, design, and other partners.
• Commitment to high-quality user and developer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Stripe Identity’s mobile SDKs and verification experiences across iOS, Android, and React Native.
• Create intuitive, polished experiences for identity-document and selfie capture, considering accessibility and device variations.
• Build reusable SDK APIs and components to simplify integration of Stripe Identity.
• Collaborate across mobile clients, APIs, and services to deliver features end-to-end.
• Improve SDK performance, reliability, testing, release processes, and backward compatibility.
• Make architecture decisions balancing user experience, developer experience, security and maintainability.
• Partner with product, design, ML, backend, and other teams.
• Incorporate feedback from users and field teams into product improvements.
• Help establish mobile-engineering practices across Identity and Stripe.
• Operate and maintain systems and SDKs, diagnosing production issues.
