Job summary

Mission Staffing is seeking an Investment Operations professional in Boston to support all aspects of public market instrument operations with a focus on post-trade lifecycle and reconciliations. The role coordinates with the fund administrator and internal teams to ensure accurate confirmations, settlements, and NAV reporting.

The ideal candidate has a finance-related degree and 1+ years in operations or fund accounting, with strong Excel and familiarity with SWIFT messaging and derivatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in investment operations, portfolio operations, or fund accounting.
• Hands-on experience with daily cash, position, and pricing reconciliations.
• Familiarity with month-end cash, position, and NAV reconciliations and tie-outs.
• Knowledge of cash payments and SWIFT messaging.
• Advanced Excel; Power BI and AI tools are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of investment operations for public market instruments in coordination with the fund administrator.
• Oversee post-trade lifecycle processes: trade confirmation and settlement.
• Perform daily cash, position, and pricing reconciliations across custodian, prime broker, FCM, and counterparties; investigate root causes and resolve breaks.
• Perform month-end cash, position, and NAV reconciliations and tie-outs to internal records.
• Review fund administrator’s daily pricing, P&L, and mark-to-market; approve cash and collateral movements with OTC brokers and FCMs.
• Monitor cash balances and projected activity across accounts; support daily cash forecasting for management and trading team.
• Provide daily maturity reporting to ensure timely roll of derivatives, FX forward, and futures positions.
• Review and release wires for public market and external fund portfolios.
• Track liquidation of public equity distributions from private equity investments.

Job description

• Support all aspects of investment operations for public market instruments (equities, fixed income, repos, TIPS, OTC derivatives, futures, FX, FX options, digital assets, etc.) in coordination with the third-party fund administrator
• Oversee post-trade lifecycle processes, ensuring timely trade confirmation and settlement
• Perform and review daily cash, position, and pricing reconciliations across custodian, prime broker, FCM, and counterparty accounts; investigate root causes and drive break resolution with the fund administrator
• Perform month-end cash, position, and NAV reconciliations, tying out the fund administrator’s NAV package to internal records
• Review the fund administrator’s daily pricing, P&L, and mark-to-market activity; approve all cash and bond collateral movements with OTC brokers, repo counterparties, and FCMs
• Monitor cash balances and projected activity across custodian, prime broker, and FCM accounts to ensure sufficient funding, and support daily cash forecasting for management and the trading team
• Provide daily maturity reporting to the trading team to ensure derivative, FX forward, and futures positions are rolled on time
• Review and release all wires for the direct public market portfolio and the external fund portfolio
• Track and support the liquidation of public equity distributions from private equity investments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred
• 1+ years of experience in investment operations, portfolio operations, or fund accounting at an asset management firm, hedge fund, or fund administrator
• Demonstrated hands-on experience performing daily cash, position, and pricing reconciliations, including root-cause analysis and break resolution
• Experience with month-end cash, position, and NAV reconciliations and tie-outs; familiarity with investment accounting systems
• Working knowledge of investment operations across equities, fixed income, futures, OTC derivatives, digital assets, and FX
• Exposure to trade confirmation and derivative settlement, with a strong interest in broadening expertise across the full trade lifecycle
• Understanding of cash payments and SWIFT messaging
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail
• High degree of ownership and accountability; works independently, learns new systems quickly, and adapts to evolving workflows
• Experience with platforms such as Citco Aexeo, Bloomberg AIM, DTCC CTM, OSTTRA MTM, reconciliation platforms, and custodian/prime broker portals is a plus
• Ability to analyze complex workflows, identify risks or inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements, including potential AI-driven solutions
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI and AI tools is a plus
