Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups of students who have identified gaps in Reading and Math, with a goal to close the gap by two years within one school year. The role uses universal screening, Direct Instruction, progress monitoring, and intensive research-based interventions to support at-risk students.

You will collaborate with general education teachers, deliver district-approved interventions, and monitor progress with weekly plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction to small groups in 3rd-8th grade at risk in reading and/or math.
• Teach small groups in Kinder-2nd grade (campus assignment) at risk in reading/math.
• Teach small groups in 9th-12th grade (campus assignment) at risk to graduate.
• Coordinate with general education teachers to align support.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Learn and deliver grade-level content and curricula.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement assessments to track each student’s progress.
• Communicate progress with students and families weekly.
• Facilitate technology use to support learning and tasks.
• Implement a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Develop student character and community in the classroom.
• Build cooperative relationships with families.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in meetings.
