Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups in 3rd–8th grade to close reading and math gaps within one school year.

The role emphasizes universal screening, Direct Instruction, frequent progress monitoring, and intensive research-based interventions, aligned with IDEA AP for All. It is grant-funded and requires collaboration with general education staff.

Qualifications

• Content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA demonstrated by certification or experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution is required.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting is strongly preferred.
• State certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction in small groups for 3rd–8th grade students at risk in reading and/or math.
• Provide district-approved intervention to Kinder–2nd and 9th–12th grade groups as assigned.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate support for intervention students.
• Implement standards and curricula; deliver assessments and monitor progress weekly.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance and track student data weekly.
• Communicate student progress with families on a regular basis.
• Support tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed.
