Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking an Imaging Technologist in Milwaukee, WI, at Columbia St. Mary’s, within the Imaging department. The role includes weekend option shifts with a part-time schedule, focusing on radiologic imaging and technical precision.

You will administer contrast and medications within regulatory scope, monitor patient safety, and ensure adherence to radiation protection guidelines while upholding department standards and quality measures.

Qualifications

  • BLS provided within 1 month of hire.
  • ARRT Radiologic Technologist credential with Vascular Interventional Radiology requirement.
  • State Radiology licensure by hire date.
  • General Radiography credential required in addition to Vascular IR.

Responsibilities

  • Imaging & Technical Precision: position patients and select exposure factors to produce high-quality images for PACS.
  • Patient Care & Safety: administer contrast media and medications while monitoring patients and following radiation protection guidelines.
  • Clinical Quality Improvement: observe and refine imaging protocols to meet standards.
  • Equipment & Facility Oversight: maintain a clean department and perform routine equipment checks and lock/tag-out when needed.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Imaging & Technical Precision: Accurately position patients and select optimal exposure factors and anatomic parameters to produce and submit high-quality images and data to PACS.

  • Patient Care & Safety: Administer contrast media and medications within regulatory scope while monitoring patients for abnormal activity and ensuring strict adherence to radiation protection guidelines.

  • Clinical Quality Improvement: Observe and refine imaging protocols as warranted to enhance diagnostic accuracy and ensure all documentation meets departmental standards.

  • Equipment & Facility Oversight: Maintain a clean, orderly department and ensure equipment functionality by performing routine checks and implementing lock/tag-out procedures for malfunctions.

What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Vascular-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 15 Months (1 1/4 year) of hire date orjob transfer date required. General Radiography required in addition to Vascular Interventional Radiology. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board required. General Radiology and state licensure required by hire or job transfer date.

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.

Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
