Job summary

Mercy Health is hiring a Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist to assist licensed practitioners in fluoroscopic and interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique and documenting medications and radiation exposure in accordance with laws and policies.

The role requires ARRT/CCI certification and BLS; experience in vascular ultrasound and interventional imaging is preferred. Thorough knowledge of anatomy, exam procedures, and PACS/EMR usage is essential.

Qualifications

• Certification/licensure in ARRT or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required.
• ARRT/CCI certification is required or preferred depending on state.
• BLS is required or preferred depending on hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality diagnostic vascular lab examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
• Prepares patients for procedures and explains the procedure to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
• Contacts referring physician for clarification before exams if orders appear incorrect.
• Uses the hospital EMR to review patient information, enter preliminary reports, and document critical findings.
• Demonstrates safety and infection control and follows Mercy Health policies.
