Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist to assist licensed practitioners in fluoroscopic and interventional procedures, while maintaining sterile technique. You will handle medications, radiation safety, and patient monitoring per policy.

Responsibilities include performing non-invasive vascular studies, coordinating with physicians, and documenting findings in the EMR. Eligible candidates possess ARRT/CCI certification and BLS, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• ARRT or CCI certification/registration required (or equivalent)
• BLS Basic Life Support – required/preferred depending on hire; obtain prior to direct patient care
• ACLS and other interventional radiology certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment to evaluate cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, venous systems.
• Prepares patients for procedures, explaining the procedure and providing instructions to obtain desired results and reduce anxiety.
• Contacts referring physician (or other medical personnel) for clarification prior to exams if order may be incorrect.
• Utilizes the EMR to review patient information, enter preliminary reporting, and document critical findings.
• Completes assigned tasks in a timely fashion, consistent with department needs.
• Adheres to safety initiatives, infection control, and patient confidentiality policies.
• Demonstrates ability to perform non-invasive vascular exams at a professional level.
• Demonstrates knowledge of vascular anatomy, exam procedures, interpretation criteria, and correlates lab results with other hospital procedures.
