Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown is seeking a Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist to assist licensed practitioners in fluoroscopic and interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique and documenting medication/radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policies.

You will prepare patients, review information in the EMR, and communicate with referring physicians when orders may be incorrect, while upholding safety and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in ARRT accredited program preferred.
• 1 year radiology experience; surgery CR experience preferred.
• Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality diagnostic vascular lab examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
• Prepares patients for procedures and provides instructions to minimize anxiety.
• Contacts referring physician for clarification prior to exams if order is unclear.
• Uses EMR to review patient information, enter preliminary reporting, and document critical findings.
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality policies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of vascular anatomy and correlation of results with other procedures.
