Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist to assist licensed practitioners in fluoroscopic and interventional neuro-interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique and documenting medications and radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policy.

The role involves preparing patients, coordinating with physicians, documenting findings in the EMR, and upholding safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required
• BLS Basic Life Support – preferred prior to direct patient care, must obtain from approved source
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support – preferred
• Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography RT(R)(CV)(ARRT) – preferred
• Vascular-Interventional Radiology RT(R)(VI)(ARRT) – preferred
• State Licensure – preferred unless required by the state where the job is performed

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
• Prepares patients for procedures and provides instructions to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety.
• Contacts referring physician for clarification prior to exams if order seems incorrect.
• Utilizes the EMR to review patient information, enter preliminary reporting, and document critical findings.
• Completes tasks in a timely manner and adheres to safety and confidentiality policies.
• Adheres to Mission and Values of Bon Secours Mercy Health and Corporate Responsibility policies.
• Demonstrates proficiency in non-invasive vascular exams and understands vascular anatomy and exam interpretation.
