Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Lake Erie Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio to support students with IEP goals through targeted instruction and behavior supports.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, diagnostic assessments, IEP planning, and culturally responsive teaching, with a focus on student achievement, social-emotional growth, and family communication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in an inclusion or Co-Teaching model.
• Comfort with growth-focused coaching based on observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to interpret student abilities and modify instruction.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Perform functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals/objectives.
• Support student achievement and school culture goals.
• Use research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into lessons.
• Serve as advisor for a group of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
• Participate in planning non-instructional activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
