Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist at University of Cleveland Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio, to support students with IEP goals and inclusive practices. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, assessments, behavior plans, and family engagement in a growth‑minded, culturally responsive environment.

Salary ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 with benefits, paid time off, retirement contributions, and career advancement opportunities across ACCEL Schools.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or co-teaching in a resource room.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with teachers to interpret abilities/disabilities and adapt interventions.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals and objectives.
• Work to meet goals related to student achievement and culture.
• Use research-based best practices in planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching in daily lessons and interactions.
• Serve as advisor for a group of students.
• Regularly communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Support planning of non-instructional activities such as events and field trips.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
