BASIC PURPOSE

The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fleet road equipment including tractors, trailers, thermo-king units, converter dollies, and maintenance vehicles. They will ensure compliance with all state and federal trucking regulations, document repairs, and keep current maintenance logs. The role may also involve performing road rescue tasks as needed.

Location: St Louis, MO

Compensation varies based on experience, skills, location, and other factors. The expected base pay is between $28 and $32 per hour. Overtime compensation is also available.

SCHEDULE

• Sunday-Thursday
• 2pm-10:30pm

Starting Pay: $28 an hour!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and repair diesel equipment such as tractors, trailers, reefers, and lift gates.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards.
• Complete repair documentation and manage parts inventory.
• Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and inventory.
• Assist other maintenance staff as needed.
• Willing to assume increased responsibilities and certifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Related Experience/Requirements

Valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel or reefer mechanic, or 3 years with relevant certifications. Must have diagnostic skills, problem-solving abilities, and own hand tools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations, ability to read technical manuals, excellent communication, multitasking skills, adaptability, computer skills, and flexibility to work nights and weekends. Overtime may be required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, bend, reach, grasp, manipulate, and twist as specified in detailed physical demands.

Compensation depends on experience and other factors. The base pay range is $28-$32 per hour.
