Qualifications

Job Description

Truck Centers, Inc. is continually growing, and we have an ongoing need for Service Technicians and Certified Diesel Mechanics of varying experience to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you are a vital part of our Service department and essential to getting our customers back on the road.

This position is on 2nd shift, from 3:30 pm to midnight.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Perform high-quality work according to OEM, warranty, and dealership standards.
  • Read repair orders, observe vehicle operation, obtain diagnostics information, identify root causes, plan work procedures, and perform repairs as authorized.
  • Perform repairs on all truck systems, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, HVAC, electronics, and more.
  • Document diagnostic findings, repair status, and work performed thoroughly and organized using Service Notes.
  • Coordinate with Parts department and Service administration for parts and updates.
  • Perform quality checks and road test vehicles to ensure repairs resolve customer complaints.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License meeting insurance requirements
  • Class B CDL with air brake endorsement; Class A CDL preferred
  • Certificate from a diesel tech training school or at least 4 years of medium- or heavy-duty truck service experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality work
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
  • Ability to pass background check, physical, and drug screen
  • Own tools required; specialty tooling provided by TCI
