Job description

The DSC Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe operating condition of our Fredericksburg Distribution Center. The DSC maintenance technician must be a self-directed individual with proven knowledge of electrical systems installation and repair.

Additional Information:

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday: 3:00PM to 11:00PM

Shift Differential: $1.00/Hour

This position is eligible for bonuses based on performance and is subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery and access proprietary information, raw materials, finished products, and other valuable items, sometimes under supervision.
• Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment such as forklifts, hi-lifts, order pickers, wrappers, vacu-hoists, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Carry out carpentry, electrical maintenance, pipefitting, and plumbing tasks as needed.
• Maintain and repair systems within the DSC, including fire and security systems, security gates, and systems.
• Perform maintenance on dock doors and dock plates.
• Monitor and maintain building and grounds, including snow removal responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship now or in the future.
• At least 2 years of work experience as a mechanic in manufacturing or distribution environments.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience applying electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of mechanic experience in manufacturing or distribution settings.
• Industrial, electrical, or welding certification or license.
• Formal training or 1 year of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).
