Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service, building lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. You will meet with clients, listen to project needs, educate on requirements, and craft a design concept aligned with personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

The role emphasizes in-store design consultations, appointment scheduling, and collaboration with store leadership to drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematics.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness and clear communication.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve goals.
• Engage in current design trends and utilize design applications (Salesforce, Scheduler, MyProject).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
