Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. At Floor & Decor, Designers meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate them on requirements, and create a design concept reflecting personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Successful candidates will have at least 1 year of interior design or retail/sales experience, knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of interior design or retail/sales experience
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and store leads
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness, and concise communication using company tools
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff
• Stay current on design trends in the market
• Use design applications Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject
• Perform other duties as assigned
