Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers meet with customers to listen to project needs and craft design concepts that reflect personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

This role involves greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and guiding selections of tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects. You will manage multiple projects with clear communication and collaborate with store leadership to achieve sales goals.

Qualifications

• 1 year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Design degree is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up including concise communication
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales and other goals
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market
• Understand and utilize design applications Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject
• Perform other duties as assigned
