Job summary

Madison Health, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a Nurse Education Specialist to develop and maintain nursing staff competency across resident care needs.

You will plan, schedule and deliver clinical training, create policies, coordinate inservices, and maintain records while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Ideal candidate is a licensed Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of related experience, strong teaching and communication skills, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Kentucky with minimum 3 years direct experience.
• Knowledge of MDS, care plan development, and chart auditing of the nursing process.
• Strong written and oral communication and teaching skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to relate positively with residents, families, community members, volunteers and staff.
• Current CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules and implements clinical training for all clinical staff.
• Develops new training tools, policies and procedures.
• Provides clinical modules during orientation to all employees using the appropriate materials.
• Plans, coordinates, schedules and presents inservices for all departments.
• Coordinates, implements and maintains records for all inservicing for all staff.
• Coordinates the use of educational equipment and resources.
• Performs other staff education duties as required for compliance with regulations.
• Prepares supplementary educational materials.
• Assesses learning needs through observation and assessments.
• Measures the impact of programs and learning activities.
• Attends inservice training and committees.
• Assists in orientation of employees.
• Maintains accurate records of staff education.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
