Job summary

Legal.io is assisting a client seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to provide interim coverage for the in-house litigation team for a 3‑month engagement (October 2026 – January 2027).

You will manage commercial disputes involving customers, partners, and integration matters, support IP and patent litigation, coordinate strategy with outside counsel across jurisdictions, and partner with Commercial Legal, Sales, and other teams to balance risk with business goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of litigation experience (U.S. commercial focus).
• Experience in both law firm and in-house settings, preferably with enterprise software/tech.
• Experience managing outside counsel and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent judgment, communication, and project-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial disputes involving customers, partners, and business integration matters.
• Provide support across commercial and intellectual property disputes.
• Support an active patent litigation matter as it progresses toward trial.
• Coordinate strategy and day-to-day activities with outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with Commercial Legal, Sales, Customer Success, and other teams to investigate issues, assess risk, and resolve disputes.
• Draft legal communications, manage investigations, prioritize matters, and keep litigation workstreams moving with minimal oversight.
• Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance balancing legal and commercial risk.
