Job summary

New Leaf Energy in Chicago is seeking an Interconnection Project Manager (DG) to coordinate interconnection efforts across engineering, project finance, accounting, and operations. You will interpret utility feedback and build relationships with market stakeholders while aligning with regional strategy.

The role requires exceptional organization, cross-functional collaboration, and a strategic mindset. Hybrid work necessitates in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Policy, Finance, Business, Environmental Science, or Project Management preferred).
• 4+ years of relevant energy experience.
• Strong project management, reporting, and technical skills, with tools such as Salesforce and Smartsheet.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to build, experiment, and iterate in a fast-paced growth environment.
• Passion for renewable energy and accelerating clean energy transition.

Responsibilities

• Represent New Leaf Energy as the primary point of contact for all utility communications.
• Lead interconnection meetings and resolve conflicts.
• Oversee due diligence and research for new market entry.
• Build and maintain interconnection project management infrastructure and trackers.
• Own the full interconnection lifecycle and communicate risks to the team.
• Monitor utility performance and escalate risks to the critical path.
• Advise the development team on tariffs and process changes.
• Negotiate favorable outcomes with utilities.
• Coordinate applications, studies, and interconnection agreements.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and payment policies.
