Job summary

New Leaf Energy seeks an Interconnection Project Manager (DG) to coordinate interconnection activities across Engineering, Project Finance, Accounting, and Operations. You will interpret utility feedback, manage regional interconnection dynamics, and build relationships with key stakeholders to advance clean energy projects.

The role offers a hybrid work environment with in-person days in multiple offices and requires strong organizational and project management skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in energy or electric utility projects.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Policy, Finance, Business, Environmental Science, or Project Management preferred.
• Strong project management, reporting, and technical skills; experience with Salesforce and Smartsheet/Microsoft Project is a plus.
• Interest in renewable energy and climate solutions; ability to adapt and iterate in a fast-paced company.

Responsibilities

• Represent New Leaf Energy as the primary point of contact for all utility communications.
• Leadership of all utility interactions and meetings, including conflict resolutions.
• Lead interconnection due diligence and research for new market entry (process implementation, problem solving, stakeholder relationship building).
• Create and maintain project management infrastructure, trackers, reports, and tools to support development strategy.
• Own the interconnection lifecycle and communicate risks to cross-functional teams.
• Monitor utility performance to identify risks to the critical path and negotiate positive outcomes.
• Serve as interconnection process SME and internal consultant for strategic decisions.
• Handle project-level disputes and negotiate positive outcomes with utilities.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and lead countermeasure implementations.
• Own interconnection application submittal packages with internal and external teams.
• Forecast cash flow and understand cost-benefit and payment policies.
• Apply continuous improvement tools, value stream mapping, and change management.
• Evaluate, onboard, and manage 3rd party consultants.
• Develop and maintain records as each project navigates the lifecycle.
• Coordinate signatures, approvals, payments for applications, studies, and interconnection agreements.
