Job summary

New Leaf Energy is seeking an Interconnection Project Manager (DG) to coordinate interconnection activities across engineering, project finance, accounting, and operations. You will manage utility communications, due diligence, and lifecycle deliverables while building stakeholder relationships in multiple markets, with a focus on New Leaf Energy's Boston footprint.

The role blends technical/financial acumen with project leadership in a hybrid work setting; you will report to the Interconnection

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience with preference given to energy and direct electric utility experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Policy, Finance, Business, Environmental Science, Project Management preferred).
• Strong project management, reporting, and technical skills, preferably in Salesforce and Smartsheet/Microsoft Project.
• Excitement about growing with a fast-paced company; comfort with ambiguity and willingness to build, experiment, and iterate when direction is undefined.
• A passion for renewable energy, addressing the climate crisis, and accelerating clean energy transformation.

Responsibilities

• Represent New Leaf as the primary point of contact for all utility communications.
• Leadership of all utility interactions and meetings, including conflict resolutions.
• Lead interconnection due diligence and research for new market entry (process implementation, problem solving, relationship building).
• Create and maintain utility/region-specific project management infrastructure, trackers, reports, and tools to support development strategy.
• Own the interconnection lifecycle; interpret utility requirements and communicate risks to cross-functional teams.
• Proactively monitor utility performance to identify risks to the critical path and negotiate outcomes.
• Serve as interconnection SME for development team and assist strategic decisions.
• Handle project-level disputes and negotiate positive outcomes with utilities.
• Identify improvement opportunities and lead countermeasure implementation.
• Own interconnection application submittal packages and coordinate with teams and external consultants.
• Own cash flow forecasting and understanding of cost-benefit and utility payment policies.
• Apply continuous improvement tools and change management methods.
• Evaluate, onboard, and manage 3rd party consultants.
• Maintain a record of each project through the interconnection process lifecycle.
• Coordinate signatures, approvals, and payments for applications, impact studies, and interconnection agreements.
