Job summary

CORE Electric Cooperative in Colorado is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Planning Manager with system planning and interconnection tasks. You will apply power system theory and interconnection procedures to drive projects from start to energization.

The role involves reviewing interconnection applications, preparing feasibility studies, and serving as the technical SME on the interconnection process, while ensuring compliance with NERC, state, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Understanding of power system engineering fundamentals.
• Proficient with WindMil and CYME engineering analysis software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint.
• Requires valid Colorado driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Reviews interconnection applications from small to large generation and load.
• Prepares interconnection studies to evaluate feasibility for requests.
• Serves as subject matter expert on technical aspects of interconnection.
• Manages the interconnection process from application through energization.
• Assists in review and development of compliance requirements per NERC/Colorado/PUC.
• Coordinates system protection to maintain reliability and supports operations.
