Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking an Instructional Para Educator to support students under licensed staff direction. You’ll assist with basic curriculum work, run small groups, prepare materials, monitor behavior, and help document student progress.

Responsibilities include assisting with tests, attendance, field trips, and classroom events; you may work with behaviorally challenging students and must maintain confidentiality and support inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments must meet one of the following requirements: Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an associate’s or higher degree; or met a rigorous standard of quality, demonstrated through assessment knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing Reading/Writing/Math or Reading readiness/Writing readiness/Math readiness.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials, administering tests, grading, attendance, etc. (Daily, 30%).
• Assist students with classroom activities and curriculum delivery in one-on-one or small groups (Daily, 30%).
• Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior during activities (Daily, 20%).
• Perform basic clerical work for the classroom teacher (Daily, 10%).
• Assist with field trips or events (Daily, 5%).
• Perform other duties as assigned (Daily, 5%).
