Job summary

Raytheon EO/IR Solutions seeks an engineering leader with a strong background in production and sustainment programs, specifically MTS EO/IR. The role emphasizes hardware sustainment across programs and leading cross‑discipline engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee assembly and testing, drive improvements in cycle time and cost, mentor engineers, and contribute to proposals with BOEs, while ensuring readiness for a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• A STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with MTS EO/IR systems in development, production, and/or sustainment environments.
• Experience leading cross-discipline teams and managing competing priorities across multiple programs.
• The ability to obtain a Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and leadership for the assembly and testing of Raytheon-built hardware across multiple programs.
• Prioritize and coordinate sustaining engineering functions (Electrical, Mechanical, and Reliability Engineers) to meet daily operational and program needs.
• Lead cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in cycle time, cost reduction, and product reliability.
• Manage the training and onboarding programs for new engineers, fostering skill development and team integration.
• Drive technical decision-making processes, resolving conflicts within sustaining engineering teams or escalating to the appropriate authority when necessary.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for deliverable hardware issues, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of corrective actions.
• Support proposal efforts through Basis of Estimate (BOE) generation.
• Provide timely and accurate estimates at Completion.
