Job summary

CAMBA seeks an Intake Specialist to coordinate the intake process for households facing housing crises from its Stuyvesant Place site in Staten Island. You will assess risk, explain program eligibility, schedule referrals, and maintain current client resources.

The role requires strong writing and communication skills, plus four years of relevant experience and Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of relevant experience, preferably in a mid-sized organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong writing and communication skills for reports and client correspondence.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to program guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the intake process with individuals and families facing housing crises.
• Assess homelessness risk based on established criteria and program guidelines.
• Explain the homelessness prevention program's services, eligibility requirements, and limitations.
• Schedule appointments, referrals, and provide information on resources.
• Ensure client resources are up-to-date and available in the reception area.
• Create and maintain client files, both hard copy and electronic.
• Perform data entry, filing, copying and faxing of documents.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure coordinated service delivery.
• Stay informed about current housing trends, local resources, and guidelines.
