CAMBA seeks an Intake Specialist in Brooklyn to coordinate housing-crisis intake, assess risk, and connect clients with essential services. You will schedule appointments, share resource information, and maintain up-to-date client files, ensuring smooth access to DHS/DSS/HRA resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong writing and communication skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the intake process with individuals and families facing housing crises.
• Assess homelessness risk based on established criteria and program guidelines.
• Explain the homelessness prevention program's services, eligibility requirements, and limitations.
• Schedule appointments, make referrals, and provide information on community resources.
• Maintain up-to-date client resources in reception areas.
• Perform data entry, filing, copying and faxing of documents.
• Provide referrals to internal and external resources such as shelters, housing programs, and employment services.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure coordinated service delivery.
