Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) for a contract role in Cary, NC. The technician will review referrals, verify prescriptions, and maintain patient/provider records in pharmacy systems to ensure accurate processing and timely patient access to therapies.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid CPhT, NC registration, and have prior pharmacy experience, strong data-entry skills, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification in good standing.
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP).
• Prior experience working in a pharmacy environment.
• Strong data entry and computer skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming referrals to ensure all required information is complete, accurate, and ready for processing.
• Create and maintain patient and provider records within pharmacy systems.
• Verify prescription information for completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions, resolve missing information, and provide referral status updates.
• Accurately document referral activity and progress notes to support seamless workflow across teams.
• Enter and maintain provider information, including National Provider Identifier (NPI) data.
• Perform high-volume data entry while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support timely patient access to specialty medications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve referral-related issues using sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Support additional pharmacy operations and patient access initiatives as needed.
