Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Intake in Cary, NC. This role reviews referrals, verifies prescription data, builds patient profiles, and coordinates with providers to ensure accurate processing and timely patient access to medications.

You will maintain records in pharmacy systems and support cross-functional teams in a high-volume environment. Qualified candidates hold a CPhT certification, NC BOP registration, and prior pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing.
• Active NC Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) registration.
• Experience working in a pharmacy environment.
• Strong data entry and computer skills with high accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming referrals to ensure information is complete, accurate, and ready for processing.
• Create and maintain patient and provider records in pharmacy systems.
• Verify prescription information for completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and provide status updates.
• Document referral activity and progress notes to support workflow across teams.
• Enter and maintain provider information, including NPI data.
• Perform high-volume data entry with accuracy and speed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patient access to specialty medications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve referral-related issues using sound judgment.
• Support additional pharmacy operations as needed.
