Job summary

The Salvation Army in Battle Creek, MI is seeking an Intake Receptionist to respond to requests for assistance, screen priorities, and coordinate referrals with compassion and professionalism.

You will greet visitors, perform screenings for needs, schedule appointments, maintain records, and provide information and referrals while upholding confidentiality and ethical standards in a community-facing role.

Qualifications

• Front desk or call center experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience working with low-income populations preferred.
• One year experience in social work or social service field desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting and responding to guests in-person or via phone.
• Conducts screenings for in-kind and financial needs; determining and discerning primary need and urgency of matter.
• Provides program information and referrals and schedules appointments.
• Identifies resources and next steps that are available to address needs.
• Stays up-to-date with program requirements and trends in the community.
• Maintains records and statistical data; providing information for reports as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
