Job summary

The Salvation Army in Battle Creek is seeking an Intake Receptionist to support crisis mediation by greeting guests, screening for needs, and scheduling appointments. You will provide information and referrals, identify resources, and maintain records while staying current with program requirements and trends.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish is preferred. Experience in a front desk or call center role helps, as does familiarity with social services and working with low-income populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Experience in a call center or front desk is preferred
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred
• Experience with low-income populations preferred
• Social work or social service experience desired

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in-person or by phone and provide excellent customer service
• Screen for in-kind and financial needs and determine urgency
• Provide program information and referrals and schedule appointments
• Identify resources and next steps to address needs
• Stay updated with program requirements and community trends
• Maintain records and data for reports; support accuracy and reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned
