Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking an Intake Receptionist to greet visitors, screen requests for assistance, and coordinate referrals and appointments. The role emphasizes compassionate customer service, data recording, and program ethics adherence.

You will screen for primary needs, maintain confidentiality, and stay updated on community resources while supporting crisis mediation and referrals. Bilingual skills are preferred to assist diverse clients in Michigan offices.

Qualifications

• Greeting guests and handling inquiries with courtesy
• Screening for in-kind and financial needs; assess urgency
• Provide information, referrals, and schedule appointments
• Maintain client confidentiality and records
• Understand and apply program ethics and boundaries
• Learn Caseworker Certification within 120 days

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in-person or by phone and provide excellent service
• Screen for needs and prioritize requests for assistance
• Provide program information and referrals; schedule appointments
• Identify resources and next steps for addressing needs
• Maintain records and assist with reports as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned
