Job summary

The Salvation Army in Battle Creek, MI is seeking an Intake Receptionist to respond to requests for assistance, screen urgency, schedule appointments, and provide information and referrals to mediate crises.

You will greet guests, conduct screenings, maintain records, stay current with program requirements, and support frontline services. High school diploma or GED required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; experience in front desk or social services is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a call center or front desk role preferred.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience working with low-income populations preferred.
• One-year experience in social work or social service field desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in person or by phone and provide excellent customer service.
• Screen requests for assistance to determine primary need and urgency.
• Provide program information, referrals, and schedule appointments.
• Identify available resources and next steps.
• Maintain records and data for reports; stay updated on program requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
