Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC is seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our administrative team. The role focuses on insurance eligibility, benefit details, and managing authorizations as required to support timely patient care.

You will collaborate with front desk, clinical staff, and insurance carriers, adhering to IBJI policies. A healthcare-related associate degree and strong communication skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher (Healthcare concentration preferred)
• Displays professional writing and verbal communication skills
• Versed in EMR software; Windows; MS Office; Email access; internet
• Typing speed minimum 40 words per minute
• Ability to lift a maximum of 10 pounds to waist height
• Ability to stand and sit frequently during the day
• Ability to work on a computer regularly

Responsibilities

• Execute best practices to maximize revenue from insurance requirements
• Understand current insurance policies and limitations
• Explain insurance benefits and therapy costs to front desk
• Support staff with workers' compensation status and authorizations
• Foster relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and insurance reps
• Verify benefits within 48-72 hours before initial appointment
• Enter benefit/authorization data into Rehab EMR
• Review eligibility dashboard daily and resolve issues
• Manage pre-certification/worker's comp processes and communications
• Assist front desk with patient account issues
• Communicate discrepancies or lack of coverage to the location
• Perform clerical duties like scanning and faxing
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• All other duties as assigned
