Job summary

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI) is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification specialist to maximize revenue by verifying benefits and managing authorizations. You will collaborate with physicians, front desk and clinical staff to ensure accurate coverage details and timely approvals.

The role requires an Associate degree or healthcare verification experience, proficiency with EMR, Windows and MS Office, and a 40 WPM typing speed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher (Healthcare concentration preferred) and/or the equivalent of 2 years of healthcare insurance verification experience
• Professional writing and verbal communication skills
• Typing speed minimum 40 words per minute
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and to stand/sit frequently

Responsibilities

• Verify commercial insurance benefits within 48-72 hours prior to patient initial appointment
• Explain insurance benefits and therapy costs to front desk staff
• Support clinical staff with worker's compensation approvals
• Foster relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and insurance representatives
• Enter insurance benefit information or authorization status into Rehab EMR
• Review eligibility dashboard and manage pre-certification/authorization processes
• Assist in resolving patient account issues
