Job summary

Hyundai Capital America is seeking a Sr. Manager, Insurance Accounting to lead the accounting for Hyundai Capital Insurance products, including vehicle service contracts and warranties.

You will supervise staff, collaborate with external administrators and actuaries, and ensure timely US GAAP reporting for multiple entities. Responsibilities include month‑end closes, audits, cash management, and implementing strong internal controls aligned with KSOX and US SOX.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ related experience in insurance accounting (ASC 944).
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
• Oracle ERP, OBIEE and Tableau experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding and application of U.S. GAAP and the ability to perform research on proper accounting principle per U.S. GAAP as needed
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead insurance accounting team to complete the month‑end & quarterly‑end close and reporting for Hyundai Capital Insurance.
• Coordinate with external program administrator to complete annual financial statement audits for 3 entities and ensure timely statutory filings.
• Oversee monthly cash transfers and forecasts; manage investments and reserves with data‑driven metrics.
• Advise on accounting implications of new insurance initiatives and sign off on UAT for accounting systems.
• Establish and maintain internal controls compliant with KSOX and US SOX; mentor staff.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members to meet organizational goals.
